in need of immediate psychiatric intervention. Now with the arrival of the 2006 Azera, that individual may well be characterized as a visionary. What a difference a few years can make to a car company and a person's apparent sanity. The Korean-manufactured Azera - which was just named Best New Family Car Over $35K by the Auto Journalist's Association of Canada (AJAC) - is by all accounts, except one, a noteworthy luxury car. The single exception is price, which begins in Canada at $34,495.

2006 Hyundai Azera is destined to redefine the way Canadians perceive Hyundai and premium sedans," said Steve Keller, President and CEO of Hyundai Canada. According to Keller, the Azera proves that impressive content and affordability can co-exist. In developing the Azera, Hyundai's goal was to embody the elements of a premium sedan - such as style, quality, content and performance - without generating the high cost usually considered integral to such a purchase. The question to be answered is, have they done it? In short, they have, and in doing so have raised the value-bar for every other manufacturer of entry-level luxury cars. |
